Ever stopped to take a look around your home and truly be thankful for all the wonderfully whimsical things you have? Well, me neither, until this weekend! I decided to make a little “Love List”, a.k.a. a list of all the things I love about my home! A couple of my favorite items from this infamous love list include a picture of my husband and I, vintage tennis rackets, rolled up maps, years worth of magazine subscriptions, and, naturally, books!
What’s on your home love list?
Stay Lovely,

p.s. I’ve been visiting marvelouskiddo a lot and I’ve gotta say, its wonderful!!

I love the spoons in the jam jars (and all the jam jars!). The books, the magazines, the maps – all super in multiples. Great post!
Jan 23, 2012 @ 13:17:05
Interesting selection of jars
Jan 23, 2012 @ 14:20:44
Love this post…particularly the way you displayed your collection of silver spoons in jars! I collect spoons, and am totally inspired by this way to enjoy them even when they’re not being used…I have a couple of love lists going on my blog as well…antique roses… fresh herbs perfuming my bicycle ride home, etc, etc… so important to be happy for the little things
Jan 23, 2012 @ 17:25:25
Thank you so much! I’m glad you all enjoyed the pictures! XOXO
Jan 30, 2012 @ 18:16:41
I’m sure my magazine collection would top my own list. I find your mirror lovely and classy by the way.
Jan 30, 2012 @ 18:57:39
Thank you so much!! XOXO
Jan 30, 2012 @ 18:17:41
I LOVE this idea. Is it redundant to love a love list?
On my love list would be the “art wall” in my garage of all the fabulous drawings/sketches my kids have done over the years; my grandmother’s coffee table, which is marble and resembles a surf board; and every photograph of my family that adorns our walls and makes my house feel like home.
Thank you for making me take stock this morning — so grateful you were Freshly Pressed!
Jan 30, 2012 @ 18:19:15
lovely! I did a post recently on a mustache teacup I found while browsing a consignment store. So, I get this. Great post.

I love your mirror! I’ve been looking for one just like it for my brand new condo (I’m a first time homeowner as of this week!) Do you happen to remember where you got it from?
Jan 30, 2012 @ 18:56:51

Fantistic list! This is a great excercise. I’ll have to add to my list. Thanks!
Jan 30, 2012 @ 19:59:35
This past summer we moved and in doing so we downsized. So going from a 4 bedroom 2000 sf 100 year old farmhouse we are now in a 2 bedroom 900 sf 1940′s cottage. My daughter went off to college and my son is on the verge of moving out too, so we thought we would get used to it. I’m not happy with the lack of closet space, plaster walls that I can’t hang pictures from or no place to put my family size farm kitchen table. Needless to say I don’t love this house but I do love some of my furnishings. I hope once this lease is up this summer we will find a place more to our liking and with some elbow room. You have a beautiful dresser, elegant bookshelves and amusing magazine rack.
Jan 30, 2012 @ 20:16:08
What a great way to see your home in a new way.
( I was once told to only keep what you feel is either beautiful or useful, get rid of the rest….so once in a while I walk around and toss anything that does not fall into either group )
Jan 30, 2012 @ 20:21:33
Wow! This is so great and I love your blog!! I’ve been working on decorating our house.

aw this is so neat. I love this idea. thanks for sharing.
Jan 30, 2012 @ 20:42:34
I love all the stuff my husband finds totally useless! Like my vintage aprons, my “ugly” vintage coffee cups, my Indiana cut glass goblets, my heaps of vintage costume jewelry, and my 1970s ceramic light up Christmas trees. Life would be a little duller without them!
Jan 30, 2012 @ 21:15:02
Love the magazine rack – awesome:) Thanks for sharing & Congrats on being FP!
Jan 30, 2012 @ 21:24:11
Really inspiring post, a love list. I will sit down and make my own list of little treasures.
Jan 30, 2012 @ 21:28:00
Lovely post, very positive! If I had a Love List I’d have to include all my photographs, cards and trinkets I’ve gathered over the past few years which make my home Mine. Also appreciate nice white cotton bedsheets, the big white cushion I use when sitting reading or writing in bed, and stacks of books.
Jan 30, 2012 @ 21:32:02
A lovely list indeed! Thanks for sharing. Great photos too. I am inspired to do something similar in my home. There is so much that we rarely take time to appreciate!
Jan 30, 2012 @ 21:58:01
Love your black mirror- how glam!
Jan 30, 2012 @ 22:02:25
I love this!! Every Monday, I do a post like this … just finding beauty in the ‘every day’. Kudos to you for seeing the love all around your house!
Jan 30, 2012 @ 22:33:18
The jam jars are so homey and quaint! Thank you for reminding me to love the little quirks of my house too!
Jan 30, 2012 @ 22:33:43
great post! Thank you for sharing this and reminding me to look around my home today and focus more on what I love .. Pictures of me and my love, pictures from travels around the world, my dog, who snores laud, but whom I still love very much ; ) .. and of course there’s also a card on my bedside table that reads ;
“Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways – champagne in one hand, chocolate in the other – body thoroughly used up and totally worn out, screaming: WOO HOO! What a ride!”

You have a lovely home! I love the empty jars concept, only, I wonder, how you keep them dust-free?
Jan 31, 2012 @ 12:41:58
Gorgeous!! Hahaha, I loveddd your opening line, “Ever stopped to take a look around your home and truly be thankful for all the wonderfully whimsical things you have? Well, me neither, until this weekend!” …very funny. : ) Thanks for the awesome post… I’m definintely making a mental ‘love list’ of my stuff.

Reblogged this on The Things Women Say and commented:
Such a great thing to do. Love to reflect on all of the great things in my life. You are Lovely!

Jan 31, 2012 @ 14:29:45
Loveeee love love ! <3
Jan 31, 2012 @ 14:58:48
The mirror in my bedroom. Oh it’s to die for! It has all these amber-colored circular bobbles spouting from each side. I saw it and had to get it. I LOVE PIER ONE!! Oh and the decorative plates on my wall. There are smartly-dressed women in retro fashion in a cozy lavender color painted on each of them. My figurines – one of a cute, chubby African American woman (reminds me of my mother) and the other of a afrocentric woman made by this fabu local artist. Hey, thanks for making me remember!!
Jan 31, 2012 @ 15:27:20
Oh my, thank you so much for the sweet shout-out!
Jan 31, 2012 @ 15:43:30

I remember when those vintage tennis rackets were the latest and greatest. I’m telling my age now. LOL!!

Jan 31, 2012 @ 17:02:59
it really is the simple things in life that are inspiring and beautiful. I love your corner shelves..
Jan 31, 2012 @ 17:56:53
The list of “Our Things” is extensive in our home. Sadly we as super seniors are preparing for downsizing. It is indeed a heartbreak to know there will no longer be a place for some of my favorite things. I loved your picture of you and husband among your favorite things…..beautifully done. I am starting to think the only time in our latter life that we are truly loved by our mates and those that love us, is after we “Die.” By then, it is truly too late with wasted thoughts and tears by those we come in contact with each day..
Jan 31, 2012 @ 18:06:20
Love this idea. Love the pics. Love the post! Will try to do something at our company with this concept! Thanks for the inspiration!

Your photos and taste are so lovely! I have always been big into home decorating, but three years ago, I gave up all of my belongings and have been living as a rolling stone on tour. Though my current lifestyle has some wonderful aspects, your photos make me long for a home in which to decorate and make lovely.
Thanks for sharing.

Most of my objects d’amor have stories that give them meaning and make them precious to me, like my cigar store bust of Diana the Moon Goddess, bought in 1979 for $2 at Orville’s Second Time ‘Round Shop in Jackson, Wyoming. And I love my twinkle lights that stay up year-round, because lend a warm glow to my living and dining room. Great post!
Feb 01, 2012 @ 03:23:21
really really awesome! Littlest things make greatest story!
Feb 01, 2012 @ 14:30:51
Great post. Our lives are so hectic and complex, sometimes its easy to forget some of the simpler things we have and have created. Its nice to sometimes appreciate things we take for granted.
Feb 02, 2012 @ 07:45:21
